A HUGE congratulations to the winner of our Cricut Create - "Sam M" who came in and put a bid in for his wife. So the winning bid?.....................9 cents. What a fabulous Christmas present that would have been under the tree. The auction was drawn on Tuesday 23rd December but we had to keep the successful bidder a secret until after Christmas (for obvious reasons).

We hope that you all had a lovely Christmas and got lots of lovely goodies. Speaking of lovely goodies we have heaps and heaps of stock in transit at the moment so keep an eye on the blog and your email for notification for when it all arrives.
Our first order of Cricut Deep Cut Blade Housing sold out, so we have placed another order with Print Blocks for more (if you haven't got your name down for one you had better do so really quickly - considering the first lot lasted one day).

January sees the exciting new class timetable beginning - we have heaps of exciting things planned for you as well as some great new teachers. If you haven't got your copy pop in store and pick one up or email us and ask us to email you one.

Don't forget the January School Holiday Programme - it's filling fast and there are limited positions in all classes.

Hope to see you in store soon

Okay - I think we are now officially over the little hurdles in terms of phones, eftpos and email. After the email that went out the other day another hiccup occurred.....grrr.....but now back to normal....yippee!!!
So what has happened since we posted last....
New stock has arrived
Little Yellow Bicycle - Christmas Magic (get in quick this one is flying out the door)
Collage Press - Scrooge & Marley
Scenic Route - Garland (so nice and Christmassy)
Glimmer Mist
Crop-A-Dials
Christmas Felt
American Craft Buttons
Canvases - lots of different sizes ready for that handmade Christmas gift.
In transit (hopefully) we have more Kaiser products - too many to list :)
Don't forget our Cricut Create Reverse Auction
- come in and bid now
see our previous post for further info or pop in and ask us.

Friday, November 21, 2008

We have been open for a week - hasn't this last week flown by. Thanks again to all those who have popped in to see the new shop - it's lovely to see some familiar and not so familiar faces. We are STILL unpacking but definately not many to go now - we are at the "oh I don't know what to do with what's in the box" stage...lol

Some new stock has come in this week and our reverse auction was launched today.....so starting with the new stock:

Some new versacolour inks (sorry still waiting for the pinecone)

Pale Gold Krylon Gold Leafing Pens

Black, and Silver Gel Pens (the really nice ones)

Imaginsce Baby Flocked Paper (both a boy and girl one)

American Craft Buttons - heaps of colours

American Craft Rub-ons - holiday and Christmas

American Craft Brads - Christmas Red and Green

Still coming we have:

Little Yellow Bicycle - Christmas Magic

Scenic Route - Garland

Glimmer Mist

and I can't remember what else at the moment but there is MORE!!!

and the EXCITING news is we are now stocking the wonderful, the fantastic CRICUT machines!! We currently have a Cricut Create in as a demo - you will fall in love with it - we promise, ask one of us to give you a demo if you haven't seen one in action before.

We will operate generally on an ordering basis but in the lead up to Christmas we hopefully will have a couple in stock - but if you are wanting to layby one for Christmas or find one under the Christmas tree you had better get in quick as the big day is only 32 sleeps away. Cricut cartridges will generally be the same deal - we will try to have a few in stock but you may find that the one you are after may need ordering.

Speaking of Christmas feel free to pop in and write out a Christmas Wish List - we will keep it safe until you send people in to have a look. Ask one of the staff for a Christmas Wish List today!

So can you guess what's up for grabs in our REVERSE AUCTION??? If you guessed a Cricut you would be right! So which Cricut is up for grabs? The recently released Cricut Create - Baby Bug Portability - Big Bug Functionality. It combines the very best features of the standard Cricut with the advanced features of the Cricut Expression.

So how does it work? You need to purchase a Bid Slip for $10 and then write on your slip the lowest price that you would pay for the Cricut Create - that's right the LOWEST amount. If you are the lowest INDIVIDUAL bidder you will be the winner. So if we have 5 people who bid 4cents, and the next lowest bid is 10c and there is only one bid at 10c then that is the successful bidder.......get it? If not ask us and we will try to make it clearer for you - I am sure that I haven't typed it as clear as I could...lol

We would love to see you soon, so drop in and say hi. We still have no fixed date for having email up and running so if you have a msg for us please leave it here.

Tuesday, November 18, 2008

So what do you think??

ok ok I know we aren't quite as set up as we would like to be but what is your impression??? We would love to know!!

Stock is on its way - there is an order from Printblocks, Aussie scrap source, Twiddleybitz and more from Kaiser as we sold out of some on the first day!!

Our first crop night is THIS FRIDAY :) :) :) Hope to see you all there!

WE ARE OPEN

although perhaps not as ready as we want to be - we are suffering withdrawls and need to open!!

Our new address is

Unit 3 / 18 Enterprise Crescent in Malaga
Ph 9249 1303
Opening hours 9.30-4.30 Mon, Tues, Thurs, every second Friday and Sat. Midnight crops will start next week and we are open Sundays to - please note we are CLOSED on WEDNESDAYS now. Thanks :)

From our old shop - go to the end of Capital Road (heading away from Alexander Drive) - you hit a T Junction - TURN RIGHT.

We are located about 100m on your LEFT HAND side - just past the parquetry flooring shop - you will see our signs on the front fence (waiting to be put up to cover the Sun auto wrecking sign!!)

Internet was hopefully being connected as of yesterday - so we may not have eftpost up and running just yet.

New stock is arriving daily and Mel is still waiting for her little yellow bicycle range to come in :)
Big deliveries of Making Memories, Fancy Pants and Kaiser goodies are on the floor.

Please pop in and say hello - we have some fantastic opening specials which we will update in here later on today/tomorrow. Also don't forget the little comp Mel has running on her blog for all the Scrapbooking to Di for Customers - just go down a few posts to find it as she has updated her blog a couple times this week hehe....

Wednesday, November 12, 2008

Only a couple more days till we open

The painting is finished (phew says Di who has ended up with paint in her hair and all over her ear after answering the phone!), phones are on but still no internet or eftpost for another week or so whilst they sort out the lines..... and we HAVE POWER on!!!

And as of yesterday afternoon it was starting to resemble a scrapping shop - fixtures are now being put in place and the crop area mapped out.

Now just to finalise where things are going, a couple of boards to be put up and to unpack all the stock!!!!

We would just like to thankyou all for your patience in this move - it has been longer than we thought due to unforeseen circumstances but I promise you it will be worth the wait!!!!

Outwit Outcreate Outscrap comp is still on - we have extended the deadline and as a little bonus we will pop you all through to the next round - start thinking about something that has changed your life and get writing as it will involve a LO with LOTS of journalling based on that event!!!

:)

Happy scrapping everyone :)

WOOHOO

Floors are finished, painting was being completed yesterday so all there is left to do is set up shop!!!! Fingers crossed we will be open tomorrow - will update later today to confirm!

Mel is running a special little challenge to celebrate the opening of the new shop so check out her blog for details :) :) :)

Friday, November 7, 2008

It's exciting - things are happening a little quicker now....the flooring people start work at 10am today! The painting is happening - it's going to look fabulous.

Okay time for another hint

1. I am still excited by the reverse auction....so wish I could give another clue but then I may just give it away :)

Keep coming back for more news on how things are progressing

Wednesday, November 5, 2008

Hi there everyone

Well things are happening in the shop - but as you know sometimes things don't necessarily go according to what's planned.I was at the new shop today and what did I see??????? I saw lots of work going on - ie ceilings being put in therefore we won't be opening as planned tomorrow. We still have the flooring to go in before we can set the shop up to let you all in. It's really starting to look good and I can't wait to see it all finished, I think Di and Mel are feeling the same way I am (a little impatient - but patience is a virtue and once it's finished it will certainly have been worth the wait).
So if you are a participant in Outwit, Outcreate, Outscrap you have been given a little extra time - but if you are calling past you are more than welcome to knock on the door and drop your entry off - unfortunately we really can't have people wandering in as it's pretty much a building site at the moment. So when are we hoping to open? We would like to say Tuesday - but in reality more than likely Thursday. At the moment this is pretty much our only way of communicating with our customers as the power only went on today and the phones/computer are still out of action. So if you know any customers who may not read the blog please let them know what's happening.

I can give you a few clues as to some exciting things that will be happening once we open.....come back tomorrow and perhaps I will let you in on a few more secrets?

1. A reverse auction will be a main feature - on a fantastic item which has never been stocked by us before!

2. The new stock that's arrived and/or in transit - there are some lovely surprises to come - Kat can't wait to get into the new Fancy Pants Chrissy range and Mel thinks the Little Yellow Bicycle Range is to die for!
See you all soon

Store update......

well we have moved.......

BUT it will be a few more days yet before we are open again!! Those trivial things such as floor, walls, painting, roof and signs need to be done first to the new place before we can start setting it all up for you all ...

Speaking for myself (but I know Kat (& hubby) and Di) are probably feeling a bit stiff and buggered tonight. Scrap shops are not easy to move!

As of today everything has been moved from the old shop and is patiently waiting for it's new spot in the new shop. Along with all the new and oh so exciting stock that is being delivered - Xmas has come early for us :) :) :)

If there is anything at all you have seen whilst surfing the net or browsing around and you would like to get - just let us know - add a post to the end of this email and we will endeavour to get it for you.

In the meantime - HAPPY SCRAPPING EVERYONE :) :) :)

Thursday, October 23, 2008

Over the next week - you will see us in store packing etc. Please note the shop will not be open for purchases - not even just little quick ones...sorry. Thanks to those people who have volunteered to assist us - we appreciate it and we will contact you if needed.

What's happening this week?

Have you entered Outwit, Outcreate, Outscrap yet? or are you thinking about it but don't know what to do with the sketch? perhaps you just want to learn a little more about sketch interpretation and journalling? Kat is running a Sketch & Journalling class this coming Saturday between 11am - 1pm. Class cost is $20 and you will come away with a compete layout and information sheets on sketches and journalling.

This Saturday we are also running the September All Day Crop from 10am. Come with friends or on your own. Places are still available so ring the store to reserve your spot. We would love to see more of you joining in for the All Day Crops - remember if you can't come until later in the day that's fine just let us know when reserving your spot.

Kat's example of the Outwit, Outcreate, Outscrap Challenge 1 is done and you can have a closer look in store from Saturday. Kat has also rotated the sketch 90 degrees (but in the opposite way to Mel).

Challenge 1

Outwit Outcreate and Outscrap your friends in challenge one - provided with a sketch (see post below) you MUST create a 12x12 LO that reflects something about you and your personality with the only rule being you CANNOT use a photo of yourself or family (so you cannot be identified from your LO)

Now sketch's are great fun - whether you are stuck for inspiration or don't have a lot of time sketch can do half the work for you. They don't have to be exactly as you see it - in other words you may rotate the sketch, flip the sketch do a mirror image as long as the same design principles in the sketch stay the same.

Here is an example Mel has whipped up to demonstrate Challenge 1 - Mel has rotated the sketch here 90 degrees and kept basically the same design principles. It may be viewed in the shop as of Tuesday.

Please remember if you have any queries at all don't hesitate to contact us either at the shop or even in here - simply click on the comment bit at the end of each post and we will get back to you asap :)

Happy scrapping everyone :)

Outwit, Outcreate & Outscrap

OUTWIT, OUTCREATE, OUTSCRAP!

It’s our brand NEW competition and we would love for you to be a part of it!

So what is it? A competition based on the completion of 8 scrapbooking challenges held over a period of 12 weeks. It’s a completely anonymous voting system – therefore we will not accept entries that contain photos of yourself or immediate family. This is to ensure that the competition remains fair and unbiased for all entrants.

How to do you participate? Come in store, pick up a registration form and return it to us with a 6 x 4 PORTRAIT orientation photo of yourself and your first completed challenge.

What’s the FIRST challenge? Complete a layout about your personality - based on a provided sketch (not using a photo of yourself or your family). Sketch courtesy of http://www.pagemaps.com/ is located just below :) Remember with sketches you are able to rotate them, flip them, do mirror images as long as it follows the design principles in the sketch.

Then what happens? Each challenge has a closing date after that non-entrants / customers will vote and a number of entrants will be eliminated each round.

Do I get a list of upcoming challenges? No – to keep it fair, each challenge will be released on a particular given date. You may elect to have the challenged emailed, or sent via SMS or you may pick it up in store.

What happens if I’m eliminated? You may continue to complete and enter the challenges into the OUTCAST gallery to be in the running for some great prizes and also the opportunity to be given a wildcard entry back into the competition.

Prizes? Absolutely – there will be $100 gift voucher to the winner who can Outwit, Outcreate and Outscrap all their competitors. Other prizes will be awarded along the way for ingenuity, interpretation and generally thinking outside the square.

FAQS

Is there any entry fee? No – however one challenge will require you to purchase a particular item from the store (approx. $10) to complete the challenge

Do I have to use products from the store? We would obviously encourage you to but it is not a requirement for entry

How much time to I have to complete a challenge? Where possible we have arranged the dates to include a weekend to assist you in the completion of the challenges. Each challenge may be run over a different length of time – depending on the type of challenge. All challenges must be signed off by the close of trade on the provided Schedule of Challenge dates.

Can anyone enter? Yes, the more entries – the more prizes that will be available to win.

Can I post my entry in? If you want to post your entry in that’s okay with us, however, we will not take responsibility for lost parcels or parcels that don’t arrive by the closing date of each challenge. There is one challenge that will require you to complete the challenge in store – this has been scheduled to include a weekend and a crop night. Please note you will need to ring and pre-book your attendance time.

Who votes? At the end of each challenge round, there will be a specified number of days where non-entrants will be asked to vote anonymously. Therefore if you are going to enter the competition will are not able to vote.

Is there a competition blog? Yes – by signing the registration form you permit us to use your completed challenges for display on the internet and for promotional purposes.
